Our work is to . . .

Reduce the current rate of prison recidivism

In Massachusetts, more than six out of ten people return to prison within six months to three years after release from custody. Join us in our efforts to develop programs and to access existing help networks that will increase the potential for successful re-entry.

Provide Programs for Successful Re‑entry

Concerned Elders Inc. Advisory Board welcomes new members, plans activities and helps members to access services.

Rebuild Families and Communities

We are concerned about the effects that both incarceration and post-prison return have on families. We welcome you to help us in our efforts to strengthen the family by preparing them for the return of their loved ones. We seek to help families stay connected or to reconnect. We provide direct assistance through our volunteers and referrals.

Improve employment and housing opportunities

We are committed to help secure sustainable jobs and stable housing to those returning from prison. Good housing and employment are essential to fulfilling the hopes and dreams of these returning citizens, and it provides them with their best chance to successfully re-connect with family and community. We encourage you to join our efforts by:

  • Offering the opportunity of a job in your business or providing training
  • Volunteering your time to help them refine and acquire job skills
  • Support our effort to open a welcoming Sober House with basic services necessary to stay drug free and seeking/holding a job
